8th-Graders Strengthen Their Analytical Skills

8th graders took a closer look at the properties of matter through four hands-on laboratory stations in Ms. Lya’s Physical Science class.

Students observed magnesium sulfate crystallization, separated sand from water by filtration, explored the pigments in marker ink using paper chromatography, and investigated the law of conservation of mass through a baking soda-vinegar reaction.

Each experiment challenged students to connect scientific principles to their results, strengthening the analytical skills that prepare them for more advanced science courses.
