24 U.S. Presidential Scholars & A Legacy Of Academic Excellence That Continues To Grow!
Congratulations to Mardi Roques ’26, named a 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholar, one of just 161 students nationwide to receive one of the highest honors awarded to graduating high school seniors in the United States!
Mardi becomes Saint John’s School’s 24th U.S. Presidential Scholar, marking a return to consecutive-year recognitions after eight years!
Now a freshman at Cornell University’s Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy, Mardi is participating in the DC Start program in Washington, D.C., pursuing her passion for public policy and building on the academic foundation and leadership skills she developed at SJS.
Mardi also selected Math Department Chair Nelson Franqui as the educator who most influenced her during high school. Congratulations, Mr. Franqui, on your well-deserved Distinguished Teacher recognition!
We couldn't be prouder of Mardi, her outstanding achievements, and the exciting path she's pursuing at Cornell!
