31 Secondary Students Advanced to 2026–2027 OMPR 2nd Phase
Congratulations to our 31 Secondary students who advanced to the 2nd phase of the 2026–2027 Olimpiadas Matemáticas de Puerto Rico (OMPR).
7th Grade: Aianna Hooper, Jack Kodesh, Victoria McErlean, and Nazeli Rivas.
8th Grade: Sebastian Borschow, Alexander Cobbs, Luis Marrero, Miranda Muñoz-Najar, Lucas Sharon, Bobby Van Kirk, and Leith Yassin.
9th Grade: Jaime Fonalledas, Esteban Higuera, Alexander Hooper, Eva Nguyen, Victoria Osorio, Naira Rivas, and Sebastian Tomas.
10th Grade: Alexander Bergner, Elsa Besser, Gabriela Chanez, Isabel González, Adam Mukhtar, Ignacio Muñoz-Najar, Nicolas Muñoz, Liam Shemesh, and Violette Shue.
11th Grade: Maddox Nguyen, Isabella Perez, Ben Ravitch, and He Shan.
For five of these Hurricanes, there’s even more to celebrate. Based on their performance in the final phase of the 2025–2026 OMPR cycle, they earned spots representing Puerto Rico in the following international competitions:
Central American and Caribbean Mathematical Olympiad (AUG 2026, Mexico): Isabella Perez ’28, Bronze Medalist.
Olimpiada Iberoamericana de Matemática (SEP 2026, Argentina): He Shan ’28.
Pan-American Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (OCT 2026, Colombia): Gabriela Chanez ’29, Isabella Perez ’28, and Violette Shue ’29; Eva Nguyen ’30, team substitute.
We’re proud to see our Hurricanes continue testing their abilities at increasingly competitive levels and representing Puerto Rico along the way.

Saint John’s School
Saint John’s School is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 800 students from Toddler to grade twelve. Instruction is mostly in English with the exception of language courses.
