Art Meets Literature At The Museo De Arte De Puerto Rico!

Español 12 and Honors Latine and Caribbean Authors: Diasporas in Dialogue students explored the connections between visual art, storytelling, and Latin American literature during a visit and advanced workshop at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico.

Ms. Johanna Estrella’s students drew inspiration from contemporary artworks to write an original story, while Ms. Vanessa Ortiz’s class photographed three paintings connected to the literary ‘Boom Latinoamericano’ to create a collage reflecting their readings from the period.

Connecting classroom learning with cultural experiences broadens our students’ perspectives and deepens their understanding of literature and the arts.
