As Regional Science Bowl champions, Sebastian Borschow ‘30, Eva Nguyen ‘30, Victoria Osorio ‘30, Apolo Riefkohl ‘31, and Leith Yassin ’31 earned the opportunity to join 200 middle school teams at the U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl Finals in Washington, D.C.
Department of Energy National Science Bowl Finals in Washington, D.C. As one of the nation's largest academic science competitions, the event gathers top student teams for a fast-paced, buzzer-style tournament. It combines academic challenge, science seminars, hands-on activities, and sightseeing.
Besides competing in the Middle School Academic Round Robin Tournament, our team participated in a cyber challenge and heard from United States Secretary of Energy Chris Wright. They also explored some of the nation’s most iconic landmarks and museums, including the National Air and Space Museum, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the National Mall, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Saint John’s School is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 800 students from Toddler to grade twelve. Instruction is mostly in English with the exception of language courses.
