Competing against 9 schools at the Puerto Rico History Bee and Bowl at Dorado Academy, our Hurricanes made their mark across multiple events and earned spots on the national and international stage.

Elsa Besser ’29 placed third in the U.S. History Bee, securing a place at the International History Olympiad in July 2027. Adam Mukhtar ’29 qualified for the National Geography Bee, set for April 2026 in Virginia. In the team competition, our JV History Bowl squad advanced to the semifinal round to secure their spot at the April 2026 National History Bowl in Virginia and went on to place fourth overall.
The Puerto Rico History Bee and Bowl, part of the International Academic Competitions, brings together top students from across the island to compete for national and international opportunities. This weekend’s results showed exactly what preparation, depth of knowledge, and teamwork can do.
Saint John’s School is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 800 students from Toddler to grade twelve. Instruction is mostly in English with the exception of language courses.
