SJS Math Club at HMMT

A round of applause for our high school Math Club students who made us proud at the FEB edition of HMMT (Harvard MIT Mathematics Tournament)! Accompanied by Mr. Carlos Seda, they showcased their mathematical skills, rubbing shoulders with hundreds of participants.

The trip was a whirlwind of activity, with five intense rounds of competition: Team, Algebra and Number Theory, Combinatorics, Geometry, and Guts (think fast-paced problem-solving!). Our students were also proctored by peers from Harvard/MIT and coaches from other institutions, adding an extra layer of excitement and camaraderie to the event. But the learning didn't stop there! They attended enlightening lectures at MIT, delving into topics like combinatorics, number theory, and quantum algorithms. They even heard from keynote speakers who explored the mathematics behind origami and games like Tetris!

A big shoutout to our students who represented us with pride and passion at HMMT: Jerry Chen '24, Angelica Fortuño '24, Carlos Rodriguez '24, Ignacio Somoza '24, Saleh Yassin '24, Wyatt Wunker '25, Quan Kevin Shan '26, and Manesh Palai '27.
