Saint John's School Therapy Dogs

The first graduating class of SJS therapy dogs underwent formal testing. Handlers were oriented and had to successfully apply and fulfill a background check through the Volunteers of America website. They conducted several tests under the supervision of the president of PR Therapy dogs, Dr. Ivan Santiago.

A therapy dog is a dog trained to provide affection, comfort, and love to people. Therapy dogs have several benefits ranging from therapeutic and psychological benefits to academic and cognitive benefits.
