Long-standing Science Bowl Tradition

We hosted the 47th Annual Science Bowl, welcoming 15 high school teams for a rigorous interscholastic competition.
Across six written rounds and a tiebreaker, teams worked through challenges in biology, chemistry, and physics, evaluated by our judges, all professors from UPR Río Piedras.

Congratulations to our Hurricanes, Aren Finelt ’26, Uma Navarrete ’26, Eduardo Pereyó ’26, and Cecilia Rodríguez ’26 on securing 2nd place, to Commonwealth-Parkville School for earning 1st place, and to TASIS Dorado for placing 3rd. We’re proud of our team’s strong finish among outstanding schools.

Hosting this long-standing tradition reflects our commitment to academic excellence in the sciences and to the spirit of collaboration among schools.

Thank you to our judges, Dr. Michelle Borrero (Biology), Dr. Ramonita Diaz Ayala (Chemistry), and Dr. Ratnakar Palai (Physics), as well as our student runners and ushers, Science Department, faculty, and staff, for their support.
