Another POL Standout Performance

María Mercedes Méndez ’27 delivered a standout performance at the Poetry Out Loud Puerto Rico Finals at Teatro Francisco Arriví last Friday.

She advanced to the final round as one of five performers selected from 12 semifinalists to compete for the top honor.

Her recitations of “Bolívar” by Luis Lloréns Torres, “Thoughts in Jail” by Katharine Rolston Fisher, and “In the Desert” by Stephen Crane carried a presence that held the room.

We are proud of María Mercedes for representing SJS on a stage of this caliber. A performance that reflects the confidence and artistry we strive to nurture in every student.
