Twelve schools came together for our 6th Annual Mathematics Intercollegiate Competition for Elementary students, a day of problem-solving that challenged young mathematicians to think critically and stay sharp under pressure.
Congratulations to all the students and schools recognized this year. We are proud of our Hurricanes for their individual achievements and for our school's overall standing.
José Joaquín Rodríguez ’34 and Pablo Hymovitz ’32 earned 1st place in their grade levels, while Robinson School took 1st place in the 5th-grade level. Overall, Robinson School finished in 1st place, followed by Saint John’s School's team, including Matias Nieves '33, in 2nd, and TASIS Dorado in 3rd.
Thank you to our professor-judges from the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras, Rafael Augusto Arce, PhD., Luis A. Medina, PhD., and Ana Helvia Quintero, PhD. (retired), for lending their expertise, and to our Elementary Math faculty and staff for organizing a competition that celebrates a love for mathematics.
Saint John’s School is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 800 students from Toddler to grade twelve. Instruction is mostly in English with the exception of language courses.
