HMMT February Round

At the Harvard MIT Math Tournament February Round, eight Hurricanes stepped onto one of the most competitive math stages in the world and delivered a strong showing.
Manesh Palai ‘27, Amanda Alameda ‘28, Fernando Bringas ’28, Paolo Coronel ‘28, Amalie Futch ‘28, Maddox Nguyen ‘28, Ben Ravitch ‘28, and Nicolas Muñoz ‘29 competed alongside top students from leading schools and rose to the moment.

The team won three of four tables in the Poker Tournament sponsored by Jump Trading and placed fourth in the Puzzle Hunt hosted by Hudson River Trading, while also taking on team and individual rounds that demanded sharp thinking and collaboration. Between competitions, they connected with SJS alum Jerry Chen ’24, now studying Computer Science at MIT, and took part in academic sessions led by MIT graduate students and instructors.

The classroom is just the starting point at SJS, where students step onto national competitive stages and gain direct exposure to top universities.
