14 SJS Candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program
We proudly celebrate 14 members of our Class of 2026 named candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation’s most distinguished recognitions for graduating seniors.
Congratulations to Adrián Bernier, Maren Besser, Ana Carola Cintrón, Aren Finelt, Alejandro Gierbolini, Isabella Lopez-Torres, Eduardo Pereyó, Alejandro Rodriguez, Cecilia Rodríguez, Mardi Roques, Juan Pablo Torres, Emilia Velasco, Cyrus Wunker, and Lara Yassin, who now stand among a select group of students nationwide identified through top SAT and ACT performance and considered for one of the highest honors a high school senior can earn.
Established in 1964, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program recognizes students whose academic achievement, leadership, and service shape their schools and communities. Up to 161 students are ultimately named Presidential Scholars each year and awarded the Presidential Scholars medallion. Semifinalists will be announced in the spring, with final Scholars named in the summer.
Saint John’s School is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 800 students from Toddler to grade twelve. Instruction is mostly in English with the exception of language courses.
