We have a new champion in the hive! Naira Rivas (‘30) is the 2025 Puerto Rico Spelling Bee Champion and will proudly represent the island and our school at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., this May!
With 73 students from schools across Puerto Rico competing, SJS had an outstanding presence, with Adam Mukhtar (‘29) and Victoria Osorio (‘30) also making it to this final.
Congratulations to our three Hurricanes for their hard work, perseverance, and exceptional spelling skills!
And talk about full-circle moments—our 2023 Puerto Rico Spelling Bee Champion, Orlando Fernández (‘27), returned this year as a judge, proving that once a Hurricane, always a leader.
