Unforgettable Hands-on Learning Experience for 6th-Graders

Our 6th graders had an unforgettable hands-on learning experience at Frutos del Guacabo in Manatí, a family business that began as a small farm for the development of hydroponic products, and now focuses on the sustainability of its products and processes.
Students explored sustainable farming practices, discovered how food is grown, met and fed friendly goats, and planted and tasted edible flowers. A locally sourced lunch was the perfect ending to a day that brought classroom learning to life through real-world environmental stewardship.

Through experiences like these, our upper elementary students gain the tools and awareness to lead with purpose and care for the world around them.
