Hurricane Honored as U.S. Presidential Scholar!

The U.S. Department of Education has named Nicolás A. Unanue Colón (’25) a 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholar, one of only 3 students from Puerto Rico and 161 nationwide to receive this honor.
Selected for his academic excellence, leadership, service, and contributions to school and community, Nicolás becomes the 23rd Saint John’s School student to be recognized among the nation’s top-performing scholars. Of the 3.9 million students who graduated high school this year, more than 6,400 qualified, but only a select few were chosen as Presidential Scholars.

Now a freshman at the University of Notre Dame, where he is studying mechanical engineering, Nicolás carries forward the spirit of academic excellence, leadership, service, and community that defines the SJS experience.

Congratulations, Nico! We are so proud of you.
