Our 2nd graders turned their classrooms into bustling businesses—fast-food spots, creative shops, and even a drive-thru—all made from recycled materials!
They crafted everything from burgers, chicken sandwiches, cookies, jewelry, and the drive-thru! Working in teams, they demonstrated creativity, collaboration, and skills like budgeting, customer service, and STEM concepts by measuring materials, engineering store layouts, designing product displays, and using math for pricing and transactions. 1st graders —and a few of our faculty staff— "shopped" with play money, adding a fun, hands-on learning experience for everyone.
At Saint John's School, experiences like these highlight the innovative, engaging environment that ensures a seamless transition from Early Childhood to Upper Elementary, fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
