An Enriching Experience for Class of 2029

Two nights at the Guajataka Scout Reservation turned the outdoors into a classroom for our 9th graders.
Students practiced life skills that we nurture every day at school, such as problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, communication, and leadership, while gaining a deeper appreciation for environmental conservation. Activities included canoeing, archery, paddleboarding, pool time, and building a campfire.

Through the Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience (COPE) program, part of Scouting America, they faced team challenges designed to develop strength, agility, coordination, reasoning, mutual trust, and teamwork across ropes-course obstacles.

This is one example of how we shape students into confident learners who lead with purpose, value the world around them, and carry these experiences with them throughout their lives.
