Incredibly Proud of our SJS MOAS Performance

Congratulations to our students for their outstanding performance and unwavering commitment at the 42nd Model OAS General Assembly (MOAS) competition held at the official building of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, DC, from November 16th to 18th! Students actively participated in general debate, lobbying, caucusing, and negotiating, representing assigned countries' interests in working groups.

Special recognition goes to Cyrus Wunker ('26) and Adelaida Siaca ('25), who clinched Best General Statement speeches awards for their respective committees, while Nicolás Unanue ('25) secured the Chair position for the 43rd Model OAS taking place next year. Our MOAS students' dedication and success fill us with Hurricane pride! MOAS is a program of the Organization of American States (OAS), and the Model OAS General Assembly is a simulation exercise reflecting the OAS Permanent Council proceedings and the annual regular sessions of the General Assembly of the OAS. Thank you to advisors Ms. Mariana Toro, Ms. Naceli Pérez, and our Social Studies Faculty for their guidance and support.

Saint John’s School is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 800 students from Toddler to grade twelve. Instruction is mostly in English with the exception of language courses.
