Jessica Wan, Impressive Math Accolades

Congratulations to 8th grader, Jessica Wan who won 1st place in the 2019 Math Prize for Girls at MIT. This competition, organized and sponsored each year by the Advantage Testing Foundation, is considered to be the preeminent female math competition for high school students in North America. She also won the Youth Prize, awarded to the highest-scoring contestant in 9th grade or below. 

According to the Foundation, "The Advantage Testing Foundation Math Prize for Girls is the largest math prize for girls in the world. Each fall at MIT, nearly 300 young female mathematicians compete in our challenging test of mathematical creativity and insight. Our goal is to promote gender equity in the STEM professions and to encourage young women with exceptional potential to become mathematical and scientific leaders."

Saint John’s School

Saint John’s School is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 800 students from pre pre-kinder to grade twelve. Instruction is mostly in English with the exception of language courses.
