Let's give a big round of applause to Jerry Chen ('24) and Saleh Sultan Yassin (' 24) for their exceptional science and engineering achievements!
During the summer, our students participated with Ms. Rebeca B. Rivera in CAWT (Center for the Advancement of Wearable Technologies), a Research-Based Program at the University of Puerto Rico, where they made a research proposal. With the guidance of Ms. Edna M. Guzmán and as part of the Science and Engineering Fair Club, Jerry and Saleh worked on their plan for the research proposal. They completed the requirements to represent our school for the first time on February 28th at the Puerto Rico Metropolitan Science Fair. After months of dedication and hard work, our students made history for our school on March 12th! They received the Science Champion Award from the United States Agency for International Development for scientific excellence and for using science innovatively to create a potential solution to international development challenges. They also won first place in the Technology and Computer Science Category and the Grand Prize Award given to the 9 highest scores, earning them a pass to participate at the International Science and Engineering Fair. We are incredibly proud of our students for their remarkable achievements and contribution to science and engineering. They are an inspiration to us all!
