Our Junior Student Andrea C. Jordan Makes History

Andrea C. Jordan is a Junior student at Saint John’s School, a math champion, and a history maker. She made history when she was the first student selected to represent Puerto Rico and participate in the three main Math Olympics teams: at the 61st International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in Saint-Petersburg Russiaat the Olimpiada de Matemática de Centroamérica y del Caribe (CENTRO 2020) in Panama, and more recently in the Olimpiada Ibero Americana (IBERO 2020) in Peru. Andrea is one of four students in the IBERO 2020 team.
The Math Olympics is a program sponsored by the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. Students can participate in up to three phases in which they have the opportunity to show their math knowledge and mastery in problem solving by answering tests. It is a year-long program. Some students like Andrea are selected to attend Saturday Academy as well. The students with the highest scores in those tests are selected to represent Puerto Rico in these international events. As mentioned, Andrea was selected for all three
We are very proud of Andrea and congratulate her and her family for this extraordinary achievement and for making history!
