A Visit to our Bee Observatory

Students from Rogelio Rosado Crespo School in Yabucoa traveled to San Juan to learn about the Be a Bee project. This visit was organized and guided by SJS students Isabelle Ramseyer, Carolina Camacho, Valerie Esquilín, Paola Pimentel,  Ivana Rivera, Alexia Torres, and Alexandra Santiago. During the visit, the elementary school students from Yabucoa learned about climate change and the effect on the global population of bees. The visit started out with an educational talk at the EcoExploratorio in Plaza las Americas and ended with a visit to the bee observatory here at Saint John's School. We are extremely proud of our students who while learning interpersonal skills in planning and organizing, are gaining important experience working with diverse members of Puerto Rico communities. In addition, they are serving as mentors to other schools throughout the island.
