  • Communications Associate

    Position Summary:

    Saint John’s School, a Toddler to 12-grade co-ed secular school is actively seeking dynamic, innovative Communications Associate to provide tactical support in community communications, social media, brand storytelling, and content creation. Reporting to the Communications Director, this junior-level role is responsible for helping bring the school’s voice and values to life across platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and engaging content that supports the school's mission, values, and strategic goals.
    The ideal candidate is a creative, organized, and digitally savvy communicator with a working knowledge of communications, social media, and basic marketing principles. It’s a go-to for support creating content, managing day-to-day communications tasks, and amplifying the school’s presence in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
     
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree (or coursework in progress) in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
    • Strong English writing, editing, and verbal communication skills (Spanish writing and editing proficiency is a plus).
    • Experience or coursework in social media and digital content creation, including understanding social media platforms, trends, and metrics.
    • Working knowledge of Canva or similar creative design tools.
    • Organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with a proactive and professional attitude.
    • Basic understanding of how to engage with media, write press releases, and track media coverage.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Awareness of tools like Meta Insights, or social media dashboards to assess communications performance (Google Analytics is a plus).

    Task and Responsibilities: 
    • Communications & Messaging Support
      • Draft, edit, and proofread community emails, newsletters, and internal announcements under the direction of the Communications Director.
      • Assist in collecting, organizing, and editing stories, quotes, and photos that showcase the school community.
    • Content Creation & Social Media Support
      • Assist in creating content for social media channels, including visuals and caption writing.
      • Help maintain and update the social media content calendar with timely, engaging posts.
      • Provide on-the-ground coverage for events (photos, videos, live posting).
      • Monitor comments and messages and flag engagement opportunities or community feedback.
      • Track basic metrics and engagement trends for internal reporting and insights.
    • Brand Storytelling & Visual Consistency
      • Support brand consistency by ensuring all created materials follow tone, voice, and visual identity guidelines.
      • Assist in designing branded templates, flyers, digital signage, and presentation materials.
      • Help maintain a library of visual assets, including photos, graphics, and archived materials.
    • Marketing & Event Support
      • Assist with marketing efforts for admissions, development, school initiatives, and events (such as open houses, fundraisers, and community initiatives).
      • Provide content and logistical support for campaigns.

  • Director of Development

     
    Saint John’s School seeks a dynamic and strategic Director of Development to lead all fundraising and advancement initiatives that support the school’s continued excellence. This is a pivotal leadership role charged with building meaningful relationships and securing critical resources—most notably through the design and execution of a $10 million capital campaign for the Imagine the Possibilities initiative. 
    As a member of the school’s Leadership Team, the Director of Development will shape the long-term philanthropic vision of Saint John’s School, in alignment with our mission and strategic plan. This role offers the unique opportunity to champion a transformative campaign while fostering deep engagement with alumni, families, and the broader community. 
    Key Responsibilities 
    Capital Campaign Leadership
    • · Lead and implement a comprehensive capital campaign to raise $10 million for campus transformation. 
    • · Partner closely with the Head of School, Board, and campaign leadership to identify, cultivate, and steward major donors. 
    Fundraising & Stewardship
    • · Design and execute a comprehensive annual and long-term development strategy. 
    • · Develop compelling donor communications and marketing materials. 
    • · Oversee donor recognition and stewardship efforts, ensuring a culture of gratitude and ongoing engagement. 
    • · Strengthen alumni relations and expand community partnerships. 
    Institutional Collaboration
    • · Serve as a member of the Leadership Team and a non-voting member of the Development and Alumni Affairs Committee. 
    • · Collaborate with Admissions, Communications, and Alumni Relations to ensure alignment in messaging and outreach. 
    • · Advise on fundraising goals across annual, capital, and endowment campaigns. 
    Management & Reporting
    • · Manage the Development Office budget and operations. 
    • · Prepare and present monthly reports to the Head of School and Board Committees on campaign progress and priorities. 
     
    Qualifications 
    • · Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certification in nonprofit management, communications, or related field preferred. 
    • · 5–7 years of progressive experience in fundraising, with a successful track record in capital campaign leadership. 
    • · Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. 
    • · Experience in donor database management (e.g., Raiser's Edge, DonorPerfect, or equivalent). 
    • · Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire a diverse community of stakeholders.

    Saint John’s School, a Toddler to 12-grade co-ed secular school is actively seeking a dynamic and seasoned individual to join our team. The role of the Secondary Social Studies and History Teacher involves meticulously planning and delivering engaging lessons that foster historical understanding, critical thinking, and civic awareness. Additionally, this position plays a crucial role in inspiring students to explore historical perspectives, analyze societal developments, and engage with diverse cultures to deepen their appreciation of the past and its impact on the present.
     
    Qualifications: 
     
    • · Master’s degree is strongly desired in the subject area. Educational background preferred.  
    • · Valid teaching certificate in the subject area(s) sought.  
    • · A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, preferably within a private or independent school setting. 
    • · Strong understanding of historical writing conventions and the development of analytical writing skills.
    • · A commitment to ongoing professional development.
