SJS Wins Special Prizes at Virtual Science Bowl Sponsored by U.S. Department of Energy

The U.S. Department of Energy sponsored the Middle School Regional Virtual Science Bowl on Sunday, March 21st. SJS had two teams participating: Team 1 was composed of Adelaida Siaca Ortiz, Luis Gabriel Cordero Corretjer, Rania Marrero-Alattar, and Wyatt Wunker. Team 1 won 2nd Place! Team 2 was composed of Angelina Siaca Ortiz, Alejandro Madero Fidalgo, Sofía Espindola De La Mora, and Cyrus Wunker. Team 2 won 3rd Place!

The day before, on Saturday, March 20th, the U.S. Department of Energy also sponsored the High School Regional Virtual Science Bowl. The SJS Team was composed of Gustavo Costa Crespo, Andrea de Lourdes Ávila-Colón, Iman Mukhtar, Rafael Pagán Desfassiaux, Carlos Rodríguez, as well as Alejandra B. Lamoso Muñoz, Isaac J. Torres Pastrana, Paola Rodríguez, Ricardo S. Marrero-Alattar, and Zara Akram (not in picture.) They won 3rd Place!

Saint John’s School is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 800 students from pre pre-kinder to grade twelve. Instruction is mostly in English with the exception of language courses.
