  • The National Honor Society Inducted 23 New Members

    Students in the Mercedes Higuera Chapter of the National Honor Society are selected based on Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character. Their academic eligibility is based on their cumulative GPA. In addition, they have been involved in community service projects, are free of any discipline violations, hold at least one position of responsibility in the school and have approval of 80% of the teachers from their present and previous school year.     9th Grader, Gia Mar Ramos- NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) National Winner

    Congratulations to 9th Grader Gia Mar Ramos, for being one of the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) National Winners, an award to encourage high school women to pursue their passions in technology. This prestigious honor recognizes women in grades 9 through 12 for their proven leadership ability and involvement in technology, robotics and applied science, along with their academic success and plans for post-secondary education. Gia was one of 41 winners out of 3,600 applicants. She will be honored at a Bank of America Technology Stars of the Future Showcase & Awards Ceremony in Charlotte, North Carolina.
